World’s Oldest Female Athlete Wins Gold in Shot Put

Ruth Prith competed in the World Masters Games in Sydney this past weekend, participating in the shot put and receiving a gold medal. Ruth was the only participant in the aged 100+ category, but it is extremely impressive to see her still performing. Just watch this video and see for yourself.

Ruth is another great example of seniors who don’t let their age slow them down. She proves that even after so many years of muscle and bone decay that she can stay in shape and healthy enough to do extraordinary things. Caregivers must play a big role in trying to motivate seniors in staying healthy and active in their later years. Look at how much enjoyment Ruth finds in her lifestyle; wouldn’t you want the same for mom or dad?
