Home Instead Senior Care and Arden Courts of Bingham Farms are offering a CE program worth 1.5 units for nurses, social workers, and case managers. The program is called Too Close for Comfort, and focuses on the intergenerational decision of mom or dad moving in with their children. This CEU will provide attendees with the tools needed to help adult children assess the emotional, household safety, and financial issues associated with a multi-generational home.
Intergenerational living is the new trend sweeping the nation, and it starts right in the White House where President Obama’s mother-in-law, Marian Robinson, is staying with the first family.
Combining households is a big decision, and families could use all the help they can get. Sometimes seniors may feel the need to move in with the family for emotional support, maybe it is financial assistance, and maybe it is both, or even for other reasons. Either way, it is becoming more common and the need for good information is urgent.
Join us to help families find out if living together is the right thing to do right now. “Too Close For Comfort” will provide information for adult children on the emotional, household safety, and financial issues associated with a multi-generational home.
Guest speakers will include Bert Copple (MDiv, General Manager-Home Instead Senior Care), Jeff Cates (Certified Aging in Place Specialist-CAPS Remodeling), and Susan Myers (CPA, CFP, Founder-Center for Wealth Management).
