  3. Home care is not as expensive as many think. Across the nation, private pay in-home non-medical care can range anywhere from $15 to $25 plus an hour, usually with discounts fr 24-hour care.

The key is to find a home care compnay that actually employs its caregivers. Those that do not are called a Registry, where caregivers are registered, but do not fall under any strict guidelines or requirements to be a caregiver. At Home Instead, all of our caregivers are our employees, not 1040 status. They must abide by our regualtions, complete our advanced training, and are accountable to both the client and the franchise. This gives us greater control over who we hire, bonding and insuring them, and doing thorough criminal and driving background checks on them.

For peace of mind, and to avoid the liability that comes from hiring yourself, a Home Insetad caregiver can fill the gap when you need repsite. Let me give you an example on price. Let’s say that your mom or dad need a little bit of help, and they are a fall risk. They want to stay at home, but you want them to have care 24-hours a day. In Michigan, a decent assited living would cost at least $4500 per month. That amounts to more than $48,000 per year. Depending on the amount of care your parents need, we could be in the home three hours a day, seven days a week, and have Lifeline installed to be sure they have 24-hour assistance available at their fingertips. The cost on this proram would be just over $22,300 annually. This allows them to stay at home, and to maintain their independence with a little help from a friend.

Hopefully that helps a little. For more pricing info, visit http://www.homeinstead.com and find the franchise nearest you.
